A woman, aged in her 70s has sadly died after she was hit by a car in Co Carlow.
The incident happened on the N80 in Rathcrogue at 6.30pm on Friday evening.
The woman’s body was removed to University Hospital Waterford, where a post-mortem examination will take place later today.
The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was not injured from the incident.
The road has been closed for a technical examination to be carried out today.
