Gardaí have launched an investigation after a woman in her 70’s died in a house fire in Cavan town.
The fire was reported at Church Street by neighbours shortly after 2 pm this afternoon.
Emergency services arrived at the scene where the elderly woman’s body was found inside the house.
Her body has been taken to Cavan General Hospital where a post mortem examination will be carried out.
