Motorists are advised to proceed with extreme caution on the roads this morning, as overnight frost and fog have created hazardous driving conditions across large areas of the country.
Particularly bad conditions exist in the N2 Dublin Road in Monaghan, the N3 Dublin/Cavan road at Kells, on the N11 Dublin/Wexford road at Enniscorthy and Arklow and also on the N81 at Baltinglass.
There are also reports of lingering fog in Portlaoise, Carlow town and Navan this morning.
Temperatures are set to rise slightly as the day progresses, but conditions will remain treacherous for a time.
