Australian police have arrested three people who fled a Covid quarantine complex in the middle of the night.
The Howard Springs facility near Darwin in the Northern Territory is one of Australia’s key quarantine facilities for people who aren’t vaccinated
Police said the trio climbed over a fence to leave the facility.
Officials found them after a car chase and checkpoints in the area were setup. They had all tested negative for Covid the day before.
Authorities did not say whether the refugees were returning travelers or quarantined residents.
In the past few days, the centre has also been taking in people infected with a Covid outbreak in Katherine, a city 300 km away.
