A yellow rainfall warning remains in place for areas of Leinster and Munster this morning, with up to 35mm of rain expected throughout the day.
Overall, it will be somewhat drier across the country today, but with heavy rain forecast again for tomorrow, there will be little improvement to the general conditions.
Army units worked overnight to clear roads in Cork, Galway, Clare, Kilkenny and Westmeath.
And in Co. Cork, the Fermoy Bridge serving N72/R639 will be closed in the near future to facilitate the construction of flood defences.
