Labour Party TD Alan Kelly has criticised the Government’s plans over reopening of indoor hospitality saying they discriminatory.
Speaking in the Dail this afternoon, Kelly described the plans as bananas and it represents amateur hour for the Government.
Addressing Eamon Ryan during Leaders Questions, Kelly said the proposals to only allow fully vaccinated people or those who have fully recovered from Covid-19 to dine indoors are discriminatory to younger people.
Kelly told the Dail that the Government’s message to young people was that you can sit at home and watch Love Island for the summer.
He went on to question the Government and NPHET’s advice that young people who are working in the hospitality sector can serve those who are vaccinated whilst not fully vaccinated themselves.
The Labour leader also warned that thr Government’s decision will break social cohesion, and divide families, employees and employers.
