In what can only be described as an absolutely disgusting story coming from the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore saw a 103-yr-old lady on a trolley for a full 15 hours!
Although the lady is said to have not been in a serious condition, she was admitted to a hospital bed this morning.
She attended the hospital’s Emergency Department yesterday evening and was seen within half an hour of coming into the hospital, however she was left languishing on a trolley the entire night.
The hospital said while it cannot comment on individual cases it did confirm that the woman was referred to a specialist team and the decision to admit was made within three hours.
The woman received the “first available” in-patient bed this morning but anyone who has spent a few hours on a trolley knows how sore they can be and surely this lady needed a bed, even if one was transferred from a nursing home.
