In what can only be described as absolutely disgraceful from all parties concerned, a very large amount of the PPE equipment that was sent to Ireland from China is utter garbage and not fit for purpose.
HSE sources have confirmed that around 20% of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) recently delivered is ‘unsuitable’ and cannot be used in the front lines against Covid-19.
The material, imported from China, will be used ‘for other purposes.’
Spanish authorities recently reported a similar issue with large consignments of medical material manufactured in China.
