It is with great sadness that we report 4-yr-old Cian McDonnell from Kells, Co. Meath, has tragically passed away this evening.
In a tremendous campaign on Facebook called “Hope for Cian” – his family raised over €100,000 for life-saving treatment for the little boy who needed a double lung transplant.
The campaign group’s Facebook page posted yesterday that the little boy had “taken a turn for the worse” and was being admitted to an intensive care unit.
Unfortunately, today the bad news was delivered to Cian’s supporters and public with the message:
“Our beautiful boy is with the angels now. He fought so hard. Heaven is so lucky to have him. We are broken hearted. His Mammy, Daddy and big sister Chloe held his hand until the end.”
The message concluded with:
“Fly high our beautiful boy where there will be no more suffering or pain.”
Everyone in The Liberal office offers their sincere condolences to Cian’s family. Such a terribly sad situation for anyone to face.
