The incident took place at around 12:30pm last Saturday afternoon.
18-year-old Lisa Maria was walking home Cork Institute of Technology when she noticed two men acting suspiciously nearby.
One of the men walked up alongside her and sparked a conversation. Heading into a nearby housing estate, the man stayed beside her, talking. Then, as they walked into the estate, the second man appeared, reportedly in a waiting stance. She got the impression that she was walking into a trap, and said that she was being picked up by a friend. She walked towards a random car in the estate and then ran away.
She later heard of a similar incident that incident in the Silversprings area of Cork.
Gardai have now issued a warning for girls to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.
