Phil Rudd of AC/DC fame, has been accused of trying to hire a hitman as part of a murder plot.
Police raided his house in New Zealand today and charged a 60-year-old man with a number of offences, including threats to kill, attempting to “procure” a murder and possessing methamphetamine and cannabis.
It was confirmed by officials at Tauranga District Court that Mr Rudd appeared before the court, was let out on bail and will reappear on November 27.
Under New Zealand law, you could face up to 10 years in jail for attempting “to procure any person to murder any other person.”
AC/DC’s new album ‘Rock or Bust’ is due to be released soon and they have a world tour scheduled for 2015.
