Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn calls on Dublin to act now following rise in Covid-19 cases

The acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn has called on the residents of Dublin to act now as Covid-19 cases continue to rise in the county.

In a video message released this evening Dr Glynn said residents must reduce their number of contacts in order to stem the spread of the virus.

Dr Glynn warned that the current rate of reproduction for the county now stands at 1.4 and warned that it can easily double if the public don’t break the chains of transmission.

The acting Chief Medical Officer called on Dublin residents to significantly reduce household gatherings and to continue social distancing.

Dr Glynn’s warning comes as there are now over 100 cases reported in the county a day.
