The acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn has confirmed that pubs who currently don’t serve food will not be given permission to open next week.
Speaking at the NPHET briefing, Dr Glynn said that the National Public Health Emergency Team did consider the idea of giving permission for pubs to reopen.
However unfortunately given the current epidemiological situation we feel it would not be appropriate for pubs to open up next week.
He added that the situation is being kept under review.
