Hollywood actress Mischa Barton has been voluntarily hospitalised after her mental health deteriorated.
Police officers were called to the stars home in West Hollywood, LA on Thursday, when worried neighbours reported her erratic behaviour.
Mischa was said to have been hanging over her garden fence, ranting about her mother, and wearing very little.
The police and firefighters responded to the call; witnesses speculated about a drug overdose.
Barton is being evaluated for mental health issues at a nearby psychiatric hospital – completely voluntarily.
It is not the first time the actresses mental health has been an issue. She spent time in rehab in 2009 and has been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in the past.
Mischa’s mother Nuala is from Newry, Co Down. The two woman have a strained relationship and have fought bitterly in court over property.
Mischa has admitted to getting caught up in the showbiz lifestyle, saying in 2013 of her breakdown, that it was “terrifying” and her life was “straight out of Girl, Inturrupted”.
