Adams: “Water charges debate is a farce and a comedy of errors”

The debate on the future of water charges continues to rumble as the days go by, and now it seems Sinn Féin has yet again criticised the Government about the much hated charges calling it a “ongoing farce” and a “comedy of errors”.

The scathing attack which was launched by Gerry Adams in the Dáil recently comes after the party called for the appointment of Independent senator Padraig O’Ceidigh as chair of a new committee on water charges to be put to a Dáil vote.

Mr Adams claims thar Mr O’Ceidigh’s appointment was part of a cohesion between Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil so that Fianna Fáil can justify their U-turn on the abolishment of charge and that Fine Gael could return to power.
