The promoter for the Garth Brooks concerts has said this morning that at no time did Dublin City Council claim they wouldn’t give the go ahead to all 5 concerts.

He said they alerted him to the fact more security and car park facilities would be needed but they didn’t say from the get go that the concerts would be cancelled.

Peter Aiken said that Brooks wouldn’t play the first 3 concerts because he felt he’d be letting down 160,000 from the last 2.

It’s pretty simple to ascertain that the council are ones originally at fault.

  1. The Council are not originally at fault here – the GAA are – if there is an agreement in place that there are only 3 concerts in a year allowed and they had already been filled – Croke Park had no business hiring out the venue in the first place – end of
