Embattled aircraft manufacturer Boeing has announced plans to scale back production of its flagship 737-MAX 8 model, after two fatal crashes which killed 346 people.
The move reflects the current financial uncertainty faced by the company, as the entire 737-MAX 8 fleet remains grounded and therefore losing money.
Boeing is said to be working on a software upgrade to prevent further occurrences of the fault that triggered the deadly accidents.
According to Boeing sources, the company is ‘making progress’ in resolving the issue.
