Minister for the Environment Alan Kelly was speaking ahead of a major rally in Dublin.
Protesters will be demanding the complete abolition of water charges and the scrapping of Irish Water.
But according to Mr. Kelly, ‘the package that has been put forward is the best package available. It was rigorously thought out by myself and others.’
‘The majority of reasonable people have come in with us on this,’ he added.
In the meantime, thousands of people are gearing up for a mass demonstration in Dublin.
The Government would do well to remember that there will be no further concessions on them either.
