The 21 year old will have access to Playstations, satellite television and a fully equipped gym.
Mr Pacteau will be held in a special unit for individuals serving life sentences at Shotts Jail, Lanarkshire, Scotland.
He will also have the opportunity to play badminton, volleyball and weight training at an induction centre, which aims to ease prisoners into a life behind bars.
The young man was sentenced to served a minimum of 23 years at the High court in Glasglow.
The family of Karen Buckley stated that Pacteau was an “evil coward”.
Alexander Pacteau will also have the opportunity to educate himself through creative writing, crafts and drama in the prison’s learning centre.
