If you applied for the Water Conservation Grant, the €100 bribe will be credited to your account today.
It has been confirmed that the Department of Social Protection has started paying out the grant to more than 156,000 people who opted to receive the funds via electronic transfer.
According to the department, over a quarter of a million applications have been made so far.
All those who registered with Irish Water will receive the payment, whether they paid their bill or not. Applications for the grant are open until October 8.
