Amazon has announced the construction of its first warehouse in the Republic of Ireland, creating up to 500 new jobs.
The facility will be built at Baldonnell Business Park, near the capital.
The new warehouse is scheduled to open in the spring of 2022, with recruitment starting by the start of the year.
Amazon has long been associated with workhouse-like employment conditions, including strictly timed bathroom breaks, dystopian monitoring of productivity by robotic devices, and generally unsafe work environments.
