Pope Francis was given an incredible welcome in Washington today. The popular Pontiff met with President Obama in the White House this morning and spoke about everything from the sanctity of marriage, the sacredness of the unborn, migrants and climate change.
The Pope and the President exchanged gifts and both men spoke in front of a private but televised audience.
After that, the Pope was driven in a custom-made Jeep Wrangler Popemobile right down through Washington’s main street from the White House to St Mathew’s Cathedral.
1000’s of people lined the streets, cheering and waving Papal Flags, the crowd were ecstatic at the Pope waving at them through his open-air Popemobile.
The Pope will continue his historic visit in New York and Philadelphia.
