An absolutely disaster for Martin – Support for Fianna Fail has nosedived, new poll shows




Support for Fianna Fáil has fallen sharply, according to the findings of a new opinion poll.

The Business Post/Red C poll shows backing for the party has dropped by three percentage points since November, leaving it at 15%, reports RTE.

Sinn Féin has increased its support by two points to 24%, while Fine Gael stands at 18%, representing a rise of one percentage point.

Independents are polling at 13%, down one point, while support for the Social Democrats has risen by two points to reach 10%, reports RTE.

The Labour Party has gained one percentage point to reach 5%, while support for Aontú has decreased by one point to 5%.

Backing for Independent Ireland remains unchanged at 4%, reports RTE.

People Before Profit continues to poll at 3%, while support for the Green Party has fallen by two percentage points to 1%.

The poll was carried out between 16 and 21 January, reports RTE.

The margin of error for the survey is plus or minus three percentage points.
