Postal deliveries may be delayed from today onwards as staff members who maintain key equipment in the four An Post mail centres take strike action over drastic pay cuts.
The 36 staff in question are employed by contractor IO Systems, but work at An Post in order to maintain important automated postal processing machinery at centres in Dublin, Cork, Portlaoise and Athlone.
In a statement An Post said it will keep customers informed of the impact of any disruption that might arise during the course of the strikes.
Representatives also urged both sides in the dispute to avail of the State’s dispute resolution institutions to resolve their differences.
