And so it begins: Donnelly threatens possible future lockdowns to pubs and restaurants if case numbers get bad this winter

Just when we thought we’d seen the last of lockdowns in Ireland, it would appear that the government have other ideas and are very much keeping the draconian measure up their sleeve with the threaten of possibly using it at any given time, should daily case numbers get bad this winter.

What’s frustrating is the face that case numbers will inevitably get bad given all the “normal” winter factors that contribute to regular flus being spread.

Lockdown conditions might return to pubs and restaurants this winter if the pandemic worsens, according to Minister for Health.

As it stands, all restrictions will be lifted on October 22.

But Minister Stephen Donnelly is now saying that a return to lockdown cannot be ruled out.
