Another election? Fine Gael allude to wanting to go into opposition leaving door open to ANOTHER general election

We’re looking at literally weeks of election drama ahead with no one knowing for sure what the outcome could be – but another general election is certainly a possibility now after Monday’s revelations.

Sinn Fein have been trying to form a left wing coalition, so far to no avail. They also made inroads to get in bed with Fianna Fail but the door was firmly shut by Micheal Martin on Friday.

Now it appears as though Fianna Fail have it all to do to convince Fine Gael to go back into government with them,

The Fine Gael parliamentary party heard various opinions on whether they should prop up Fianna Fail in a potential government that would see Micheal Martin as Taoiseach.

It’s understood that many Fine Gael TDs are dead set against entering into a coalition government with Fianna Fail while others were more open to the idea that they would enter into a grand coalition government with Fianna Fail “as a last resort”.

Many in Fine Gael are saying that Sinn Fein should try and form a left wing government and if that fails then they’ll see what could be done with Fianna Fail.
