Anti-free speech keyboard warriors try to shut down Irexit event in Dublin hotel

An Irexit-Irish Freedom Party event that was scheduled for last Saturday could not proceed as planned after the hosting hotel received threats and complaints.

The event which would mark the official launch of the new party’s European parliament election campaign could not proceed as planned after staff at the Skylon Hotel received complaints and threatening phone calls once the event was made public on social media.

Leftists activists, possibly linked to violent hate group “Antifa”, have been attempting to suppress meetings organised by individuals and parties with whom they disagree in the run up to this year’s local and European elections.

Despite the event being officially cancelled by the Hotel, party members were still permitted to congregate in the lounge and for all intents and purposes their meeting and campaign launch went ahead.

In a growing phenomenon seen in many Western countries, keyboard warrior leftists have stepped up attempts to suppress free speech. In the UK, US, Europe and Australia some have even tried to physically assault those they disagree with.

There is little fear of this happening in Ireland however, as those associating themselves with “Antifa” are generally cowardly, upper middle-class wannabes who keep their activism on Twitter.
