
The Anti-Water charge group Right 2 Water have confirmed they will hold a day of protests nationwide next month.
The group say they will actively hold a number of demonstrations across the country on the 23rd of January. The protest comes after the group stated they have intention of going away and they will hold a number protests in the lead-up to the next General Election. A leading spokesman for the group Brendan Ogle has said Right 2 Water are working to ensure the scrapping of the current water charges is the election’s number one issue.
Mr Ogle told reporters: “There are going to be more Right 2 Water events in the New Year. On the 23rd of January, Right 2 Water will be calling a national day of protest and it will be one of a number of events we will be having in the run-up to the General Election. “We promised when Right 2 Water emerged as a protest, as a campaign about a human right to water, that it would be the number one election issue.”
