Social network website Facebook has been forced to report a shocking video clearly showing a baby crying and being repeatedly immersed in a bucket of water, to police in the US.
The website came in for wide spread criticism from its users after the video which is apparently an example of “baby yoga” was uploaded to the site. The disgraceful video which is just under two minutes long, allegedly shows the young child being cruelly twisted by her arms and held upside down by her legs, she is then picked up and submergged in the water numerous of times. US police say they are not sure where or when the video was made, but say they are conducting a full scale investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile Facebook have since made a brief statement regarding the video they say they added a warning to the video, but claimed the clip did not break Facebook policies. However Claire Lilley from the (UK) NSPCC said that the video showed a clear case of child abuse. Ms Lilley said
Facebook really need to go further regarding the incident. Ms Lilley further explained: “We need to see quicker action to remove this content…We think it’s a video of a child being abused,” she said.
