A new request for information on the whereabouts of Imelda Keenan, who vanished in Waterford city thirty-one years ago, has been made by the Gardaí, reports RTE.

Born in Mountmellick, County Laois, Ms. Keenan had relocated to Waterford and was living with her partner.

The 22-year-old lady was spotted leaving her apartment at 1:30 p.m. on January 3, 1994, and walking down William Street into Lombard Street on the day she vanished, reports RTE.

Her last known sighting occurred when she was spotted crossing the street at the intersection of Tower Hotel and Lombard Street.

The next day, Ms. Keenan’s brother, Edward, reported her missing, reports RTE.

There have been no more verified sightings of her despite thorough garda investigations.

Ms. Keegan would be 53 years old today if she were still living.

Garda Superintendent Gavin Hegarty said: “Imelda was known for her quiet demeanour, her love of music and her strong family ties. Despite extensive investigations spanning 31 years, the silence surrounding her fate remains unbroken. We continue to urge anyone with information or the ability to assist our investigation to come forward,” reports RTE.

Anyone with information is requested to call the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, the Waterford Garda Station at 051 305 300, or any garda station, reports RTE.
