Are you storm-ready? Eva is about to hit our shores

eva2

Not long after Storm Desmond devastated large swathes of Ireland, another Atlantic storm is headed our way.

Storm Eva is set to hit Ireland in early evening tomorrow, bringing winds of up to 120km/h along.

Met Eireann has issued three separate weather warnings -two Yellow and one Orange- as a precaution for the second major winter storm this year.

A Status Orange wind warning will be in effect in the west and northwest of the country all day throughout Wednesday, as gusts of up to 120km/h are expected to lash Donegal, Galway, Mayo, Sligo and Clare.

A Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim, Roscommon, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford.

Eva is expected to pass through Ireland relatively quickly, however, somewhat minimizing its effects. There will be localized heavy rain in the early hours of Christmas Eve, and daytime temperatures will sink to about 4-7C.

Christmas Day is expected to be rather wet and windy, with afternoon temperatures reaching a maximum of 10C.
