A plane bound for Shannon airport took off from Krakow in Poland shortly before 10pm last night, before being diverted to Berlin Schönefeld due to a “hoax security alert” on board the aircraft.
Flight FR3326 was only in the air a short time before passengers became aware that there was something wrong while a number of sources said there had been a bomb scare on board.
In a statement released today, Ryanair spokesman Robin Kiely confirmed there had been a “security alert” on board the flight.
“Customers disembarked while the aircraft was inspected by police, who detained one individual, before the aircraft was cleared to depart for Shannon.
“Ryanair sincerely apologised to all customers affected by this delay to their journey, however the safety of our customers, crew and aircraft is our number one priority”
“This is now a matter for German police.”
