
Following the fatal stabbing of a 51-yr-old man in Dublin overnight, a man in his 30s has been taken into custody, reports RTE.
Just after midnight, an attack occurred near Hampton Wood Way in Finglas.
About 12.30 am, the area was notified to the Gardaà and emergency services.
Located off St Margaret’s Road, Hampton Wood is a relatively new development of contemporary houses and apartments.
The victim had been repeatedly stabbed, resulting in severe injuries. He was discovered outdoors, laying on the ground, reports RTE.
Although it’s unclear if he lived nearby, it seems like there was some kind of dispute and that he was attacked.
He was rushed to the Mater Hospital by paramedics who treated him on the spot, but in the wee hours of today morning, they declared him dead, reports RTE.
The site has been maintained so that the Garda Technical Bureau may conduct a forensic investigation.
According to the GardaÃ, they have a specific investigation underway, reports RTE.
