Micheal Martin says that the government has enough numbers to defeat Sinn Fein’s motion of no confidence in the government by securing enough Independent TDs votes.
The Taoiseach is said to not care less about the upcoming motion of no confidence in the government later today.
It’s understood that Martin told friends that he doesn’t care what Sinn Fein does because he has enough numbers to see through the motion.
The move comes following the resignation of Fine Gael’s Joe McHugh, which means that the Government now has only 79 TDs, one short of a majority.
According to Sinn Fein, ‘This is a government that has now lost its parliamentary majority, and is failing to tackle the cost of living and housing crises.’
