Many social commentators have warned in recent years that the social media outlet ‘TikTok’ was a ploy of the Chinese Community Party to spy on and influence Western Society.

Now, following a decision by the European Commission and European Council to ban the video-sharing app on corporate devices used by staff and on personal devices that have official apps installed, Minister for Justice Simon Harris will request new advice regarding the use of TikTok on official devices for Irish governmental officials RTE reported.

The decision was made over cybersecurity fears.

“We follow security advice in relation to these matters, in light of the European Commission’s advice to staff and officials yesterday I am now seeking fresh advice for Government and public officials in relation to this,” Mr Harris told RTÉ’s News at One.

During the U.S Presidency of Donald Trump, White House officials warned against the dangers of TikTok but were then dismissed by mainstream media officials as “conspiracy theories” .

Such concerns have since proven legitimate with many commentators warning that the promotion of so-called “woke” issues by TikTok, such as gender ideology, is designed as a psychological weapon to weak the West.
