Hurricane Lorenzo is hurtling towards Ireland as we speak, prompting Met Eireann to say that if the storm maintains its current course, it is likely to cause dangerous conditions around coastal areas towards the end of the week.
Lorenzo is currently tracking some 3,000km away from Ireland, moving in a northeasterly direction.
Though there’s still uncertainty about the storm’s path, there is sufficient concern on Met Eireann’s side about the possibility of the hurricane striking Ireland by Thursday.
