At least 25,000 Ukrainians have already arrived into Ireland with the government’s goal of gifting all of them their own turnkey home.

Many people have been saying that our own have been forgotten about, those on housing lists and especially the homeless.

One Irish family remain under immense pressure to keep a roof over their head with little to no help whatsoever coming from the Irish government.

Kevin McArdle from Collon in County Louth has worked his entire life as a painter and decorator. In 2014, he went on a working hiatus to help care for his ailing mother who subsequently passed away in 2016.

Owing to personal family difficulties, Kevin and his family have found themselves seeking public’s help to save their family home.

Kevin himself has had major health problems, badly injuring his back leaving him unable to go back to work and forcing him to go on disability.

Alongside that, his relatively new born baby daughter has practically been hospitalised since she was born in 2020.

Having financially taken care of his mother’s funeral, Kevin has maintained the property to the best of his abilities given the circumstances he found himself in.

Since then, he has desperately attempted numerous times to get a loan from banks but due to his inability to work has been refused on each approach.

Kevin and his family say that they’ve had to put their pride and ego to one side and have been left with no other option other than turn to the public to ask for help.

They’ve setup a GoFundMe page detailing the reasons behind the plea and outlining what they say they needs to do to keep their family in their house.

Alongside the GoFundMe page are social media pages on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter – all links included below.

Should you find yourself in a position to help this Irish family with their plight, you can do so by visiting their GoFundMe page here.
