Gardai say they have no evidence of what happened and appeal for witnesses after man (20s) arrested in Grand Canal

Following an incident in Dublin on Thursday night, a man in his 20s is scheduled to appear in court today, reports Independent.

According to a spokeswoman, there were complaints of a man’s suspected actions in Dublin 2’s Grand Canal region, and the Gardaí reacted to the issue.

“An Garda Síochána continue to carry out enquiries into the exact nature of this incident and to attempt to independently verify the concerns,” they said, reports Independent.

The incident is said to have happened in front of Bord Gáis Energy Theatre.

After refusing to interact with gardaí on the scene, the man was taken into custody under the Public Order Act.

After being brought to a Garda station in the Dublin area, he was accused of many public order crimes, reports Independent.
