Asylum Seeker standing trial for running six brothels in Dublin granted bail despite Garda warning of flight risk

An Egyptian asylum seeker has appeared in court in Dublin charged with running six brothels across the capital.

According to the journal, Hani Ali Showky, with an address at Abbot Court, Cualanor, Dun Laoghaire officially lives off the Irish taxpayer along with his family of three children and one wife but he was secretly raking in the cash running whore houses in in Smithfield, Rathmines, Santry and Northwood.

The refugee, who fled Egypt, a country not at war, was arrested after an investigation by the Garda National Protective Services Bureau.

The accused allegedly used false letters from Revenue, a tech firm and a bank as necessary documents to take out leases on various the six different properties for the purposes of “habitual prostitution”.

The asylum seeker, naturally, also faces eight charges under the ‘Theft and Fraud Act’ for using false documentation to acquire the property leases.

Despite objections from Detective Garda David Kenny, Judge Bryan Smyth granted bail to the asylum seeker at the Dublin District Court, reports the journal.

This is despite the judge being informed by Detective Kenny that the Egyptian asylum seeker poses a flight risk and shockingly his status in this country could not even be determined while he also has no economic ties to Ireland.

The asylum seeker who stands charged with serious crimes involving fraud and more importantly sexual exploitation even possessed fake UK and Portuguese driving licenses, which if he possessed other could be used to escape justice but nevertheless Judge Bryan Smyth granted bail.
