At least 29 people (18 men, 10 women and one child) sadly lost their lives after an overloaded boat capsized off the coast of Egypt earlier today.
Rescue crews said that the vessel was carrying too many people, it tilted to one side, and many passengers fell overboard. 29 bodies have been recovered so far.
Over 2,800 have died while attempting the perilous crossing of the Mediterranean Sea so far this year, often in un-seaworthy and overloaded craft.
