Curtis Hanson, director of movies like 8 Mile and L.A. Confidential, has passed away aged 71.
The Oscar-winning director died of natural causes at his L.A. home earlier today.
Earlier in his career, Hanson directed The Hand That Rocks The Cradle and The River Wild, but he’s probably best remembered for the Oscar-winning L.A Confidential, starring Russell Crowe and Kim Basinger. The movie was nominated for nine Oscars, and won two (Best Supporting Actress, Kim Basinger, and Hanson and Brian Helgeland for Best Adapted Screenplay.)
