
Gardai are holding investigations into reports that pedestrians have been attacked by gangs dressed as members of An Garda Síochána.
The individual involved in the attack was walking home after a night out in Clondalkin West Dublin.
He states that he was approached by two people driving a red Ford Mondeo with blue lights similar to that of a Garda car.
The man was asked for ID and after refusing to return the wallet the individual had given the two men,
the two individuals assaulted the man, knocking him to the ground.
The victim was not injured seriously, but remains very shaken after the attack.
A spokesperson stated “We can confirm that Gardai in Ronanstown are looking into this. It is still at the early stages of the investigation”
Gardai are appealing for those with information to come forward.
The attacks have been severely condemned by the public.
