A fresh campaign to attract Irish workers to Australia has been launched. The number of Irish people leaving for Oz have dropped dramatically in recent years; from 25,827 in 2011/12 to just 6,743 in 2015/16.
USIT and Tourism Australia have teamed up to get those numbers rising again, offering a €999 package including a one-way flight, visa and travel insurance.
The programme will run through late November and December, and the team will also assist with bank accounts and tax file numbers.
Potential applicants must meet the following requirements:
*Aged 18-30 at the time of application
*Hold a passport from an eligible partner country
*Not be accompanied by dependent children during their stay in Australia
*Meet health and character requirements
*Meet financial requirements
