Authorities in Mongolia have confirmed that a 15 year old boy has sadly died from the bubonic plague.
It is understood that the teenager passed away after contracting the deadly disease via marmot meat.
The news of the boy’s death was confirmed by the National Centre for Zoonotic Diseases on Tuesday.
It is believed that the boy contracted the disease after eating the meat of a marmot.
Following the confirmation of the boy’s death the country has now placed quarantine restrictions in five provinces near the Chinese border.
