Authorities in the Netherlands have confirmed that a suspected gunman who is wanted in connection with the shooting of three people on a tram in Utrecht, has been arrested.
The chief suspect Gokmen Tanis, a 37-year-old Turkish national was arrested following a manhunt on Monday.
It is understood that Tanis was taken into custody this evening after three people were killed and five others were injured in the incident this afternoon.
Although it is not yet known what Tanis’s motives were, police say the shooting could be related to ‘family reasons’.
