A total of 320,000 students are returning to school today after being off since December.
Leaving Cert students, junior infants and senior infants, first class and second class will all resume classes today with the full resumption of special needs schools from today too.
Over the next number of weeks, all students will return to school.
As it stands, children have been off school for a total of 33 days.
