Bank of Ireland CEO confirms that mortgage breaks will not be extended past 6 months

Bank of Ireland CEO Francesca McDonagh has confirmed that the break in mortgage payments granted to thousands of Irish customers will not be extended beyond six months, according to the Irish Mirror.

Covid-19 has laid waste to large portions of the Irish economy, forcing thousands of families to seek assistance from their banks.

It is worth mentioning that interest still accrues on the mortgage during the payment break, a move that will net the bank millions in the long run.
