The gunman who killed three US police officers and injured three more has been identified as 29-year-old Gavin Long.
It appears that the gunman acted alone, whereas it was previously thought that the attack was perpetrated by multiple subjects.
The attack unfolded as police responded to a 911 call reporting the presence of an armed individual. As police units arrived, the suspect began shooting.
It has also been reported that the suspect was killed on his birthday, during a shootout with police.
