After sucking Console’s bank account dry, former CEO Paul Kelly is reportedly planning to apply for social welfare payments.
Mr. Kelly, who is currently residing in a psychiatric unit, also intends to apply to the High Court to have an order freezing his assets lifted. He would like to have access to money again so he can allegedly make payments of €3,500 a month on the family home in Clane, Co Kildare, as well as €1,600 a month on Console’s business premises.
Financial details uncovered during the course of a recent investigation revealed that Mr. Kelly, his wife, and his son, spent almost €1m of the charity’s assets in wages, groceries, designer clothing, top range cars, and foreign travel, among many other items.
Console has been deemed “hopelessly insolvent” after its accounts were raided by Mr. Kelly and co.
