People have been advised to proceed with caution overnight after Met Eireann issued a yellow status snow and ice warning for 11 counties.
In an announcement Met Eireann say the warning which comes into effect from 8pm this evening will apply to Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Dublin, Louth and Wicklow.
The warning will remain in place until 10am on Thursday.
It is expected that icy patches will develop overnight whilst some snowfall will arrive overnight.
